I was there last season for one of the rescues. We helped carry a woman down from the Mini Super Wall.  Se was obviously in real pain. It felt good to be able to help out some. This is a good cause.

I just got here and the weather is awesome! Who said it was supposed to be hot? I'm here by myself staying at El Rancho Sendero and I need a partner. Hopefully for some multi pitch or craggin. I can lead up to 11a and follow whatever.

In the months of Oct. 2018 to Jan. 2019 we did 6 rescues and we've done a total of 10 so far in 2 1/2 years.

What We Need
The resources of the local Protection Civil are stretched pretty thin. Sometimes the backboard or head restraint is being used for another emergency in the town. So we want to have equipment dedicated to the climbing community that we can get to in a time of emergency. We need a Stokes basket, backboard, spider immobilization straps, a neck collar, head immobilizer, emergency splints and finally radios. This is by no means a complete list of everything we need but it gives you an idea.

Please consider donating to our gofundme page.

People keep asking where and how they can contribute to the rebolting effort. I'm not really comfortable taking money so let's try this. It's transparent so you see how much we've raised and who donated.

Half of all money collected will go directly to ASCA safeclimbing.org Considering that they have corporate sponsors that match all donations we get a pretty good bang for our dollar there. The other half will go to things that ASCA doesn't provide such as chains, tools and other gear directly related to rebolting.

Thanks to El Búho Café, Shauna Hoffman and Esther Park for donating already before I set this up.

Wow, thank you for sharing this story. It's just another reminder of how important it is to do the prep and keep evaluating conditions and risks while on a climb.

Glad to hear all was well at the end!

Partners / Coming To El Potrero Chico By Myself
« Last post by JBud on October 15, 2018, 19:37:50 PM »
I wanted to know what everyone's opinion is about a female climber coming by herself to El Potrero Chico? Will it be difficult to find partners? I plan on being there for a few weeks in December. Where should I stay to have the best luck for finding partners? Do you think there are any safety issues I should know about?

Any help would be appreciated!
